Future Builders AI Lab™

Young people should be prepared to shape the future—not simply consume it.

Schools & youth programs · Grades 3–12

Eight sessions of responsible AI, coding, and digital creation for grades 3–12, taught in three age-appropriate tracks and ending with a portfolio-ready project and a community showcase.

No personal student data

Age tracks

Three tracks, so the work fits the age in the room.

Grades 6–8

Makers & Questioners

Students build small digital projects while learning to question the tools they use — where data comes from, who is left out, and what responsible use looks like.

  • How AI models learn from data
  • Coding and digital creation with supervised tools
  • Privacy, consent, and what not to share
  • Bias, misinformation, and source checking
  • Interviewing peers to define a real community need

Session length

60–75 minute sessions

Cohort

Up to 25 students, 1 facilitator + 1 classroom adult

Final project

A working prototype or media piece answering a community challenge, plus a short demo.

Session breakdown

Eight sessions, each with one clear outcome.

Activities change by track; the arc stays the same. Open a session to see what students do and what they walk out with.

Plain-language foundations, a live demonstration appropriate to the track, and a class agreement on how tools will be used for the rest of the program.

Curriculum, facilitation, safeguards, project structure, and evaluation are provided by CAI. All outcomes are proposed targets — no school, funder, sponsor, or completed cohort has been confirmed.

Pilot application

Tell us about your site and students. We'll follow up to scope session dates, track selection, facilitation, devices, safeguards, and funding.

  • No cost to participating families
  • CAI provides curriculum, facilitation, and evaluation
  • Host provides space, students, and one adult per session
  • Funding partners are welcome to sponsor a cohort

Submitting this form starts a conversation. It is not an enrollment, a commitment, or a confirmed cohort.

For parents and guardians

Questions families ask first.

The Lab is designed for grades 3 through 12, delivered in three separate tracks so a third grader and an eleventh grader are never in the same room doing the same activity.

Schools, sponsors, mentors, and funders welcome.

Tell us how you'd like to participate — as a host site, corporate sponsor, foundation, mentor, or technology partner.
