Accessibility
Building people means building for everyone. We work to make this site usable by as many people as possible.
This site is designed with WCAG 2.1 AA guidance in mind: sufficient color contrast, meaningful heading structure, descriptive link text, alternative text for images, visible focus states, and full keyboard navigation.
Animation is kept subtle and respects the reduced-motion preference set in your operating system or browser.
We design for attention, memory, sensory, and processing differences, not just screen readers. That means plain language, short paragraphs, predictable navigation, consistent page patterns, clear button labels, no auto-playing media, no flashing content, and no timed interactions that punish a slower pace.
Content is written to be scannable, with descriptive headings, grouped information, and no reliance on color alone to communicate meaning. Forms explain what is required before you submit, keep error messages specific and close to the field, and never clear your answers on an error.
Our cohorts, workshops, and youth programs are built for a range of learners, including neurodivergent participants and people with disabilities. We provide materials in advance, captions and recordings, transcripts and written summaries, multiple ways to participate, sensory-aware pacing with scheduled breaks, and flexible deliverable formats.
Participants may request accommodations at any point in an engagement, and requests are handled privately. We do not require disclosure of a diagnosis to receive support.
Accessibility and inclusive design are part of our governance work, not an afterthought. Assistants, workflows, and interfaces we help design are reviewed against Section 508 and WCAG 2.1 AA expectations, with attention to plain-language output, readable defaults, keyboard and assistive-technology compatibility, and human review paths for anyone the automation does not serve well.
Accessibility is continuous. We review new pages and components as they are added, and we correct issues as they are identified.
